1951-1961



   


1951 - 1953

  • Berli Jucker Co., LTd. (BJC), the present parent company, imported glass bottles from Australian Consolidated Industries (ACI) to distribute in Thailand.
  • On the initiative of BJC, ACI set up a joint venture with BJC under the name Thai Glass Manufacturers Company Limited (TGM).



1953

  • The plant was officially opened on January 16 ,1953, the first glass factory in Thailand to use automatic machines in the manufacturing process. The first furnace (RB1) with 50 tons per day capacity was started up to produce glass containers, chiefly for soft drinks, beer and whisky, and also tableware.  

 


 

1954

  • The second furnace (RB2) began operations, also with a capacity of 54 tons per day.
